There has been a lot of research lately linking COVID-19 to blood clotting factors in some individuals. The virus that causes COVID-19 is causing blood to thicken in some patients. Physicians are seeing an increase in blood clots, especially in the lungs, liver, kidneys, arms and legs. Some physicians have reported seeing strokes in otherwise healthy, young people.
